After starting as a private practitioner providing general corporate advice and conducting business litigation, Jae Wook Choi joined the Agricultural Technology Commercialization Foundation – an organization affiliated with the Rural Development Administration – as the the Head of the Business Support Team and the Head of the Agri-food Venture Startup center.

As the Head of the Business Support Team, he provided legal counseling regarding the commercialization of agri-food technology for startups. His advising covered the establishment or overseas relocation of agri-food companies and consequently lead him to enact various laws under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs as well as the Rural Development Administration, advocating the Administration’s interests concerning the Seed Industry Act and the Plant New Species Protection Act. He also served as an advisor for several public institutions, including the Korea Institute for Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Technology Planning and Evaluation.

In addition, Mr. Choi served as the Head of the Gangwon-do and Seoul Agri-Food Venture Business Center to support startups in the agri-food sector and to spearhead various nation-wide R&D projects. Furthermore, he led the planning and evaluation of R&D support projects for the commercialization of agri-food technology.

At D’LIGHT, Mr. Choi provides legal advice to agricultural and food companies in areas concerning the establishment of, investment in, and operation of agricultural and food startups, as well as providing legal advice and conducting litigation related to R&D. He also provides customized legal counsel and acts as a legal representative in various litigations on behalf of public institutions.
