Byung-Joo (BJ) Lee is a partner at D’Light, where he deals with various litigation and dispute resolution, including civil, criminal, and corporate reorganization matters. He graduated Seoul National University with a Physics major (B.S.) and studied at Harvard Law School (LL.M.). He was admitted both to the Korean Bar (1996) and California Bar (2003). He is a veteran litigator with 25+ years of experience mainly at Shin & Kim (1996-2013) as the department chief of the Corporate Reorganization and Insolvency Team and actively involved in the international matters as the Chairman of the Inter-Pacific Bar Association (IPBA) Insolvency Committee (2010-2014). He had used his deep understanding of science and technology integrated in the legal matters. With his vast experience from the mega-litigations between conglomerates to the corporate and personal dispute resolutions of the mid-size, start-up companies and the personnel thereof, Byung-Joo Lee is ready to help and assist the legal trouble, hardship, and agonies which the start-up and developing companies face unexpectedly and inevitably as their business start, grow and strive. Byung-Joo Lee also has served publicly as the former Vice President of the Korean Bar Association (2011-2012) and the present President of the Christian Lawyers’ Fellowship in Korea. Recently, he is acting as the lead-lawyer for the Climate Change Litigation filed by the Korean youth generation (Youth4ClimateAction) before the Korean Constitutional Court.
