HanSung Kang is an experienced NY-licensed attorney. He has been providing efficient solutions to legal risks throughout his career, particularly in the area of global business and investment, as an associate of a US law firm, as foreign legal counsel for Samsung Electronics, and as general counsel of Korean startups.

As legal counsel for Samsung Electronics, Mr. Kang was in charge of drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts for cross-border transactions. He specialized in analyzing legal risks of and offering solutions for Samsung’s various products and services. In particular, he provided legal services for the launching of Samsung’s mobile services and content platforms, by preparing end user terms and privacy policies as well as overseeing global regulatory compliance. He also supported Samsung’s global business by handling diverse legal affairs such as global recalls, M&A of global technology companies, and technology/service licensing.

Mr. Kang subsequently became general counsel of various Korean startups. He was in charge of legal affairs and overseas partnerships at LUXROBO, an edutech start-up, Green Package Solution, an eco-friendly material start-up, and NeoLAB Convergence, world’s biggest smartpen manufacturer. Besides legal affairs, he was deeply involved with attracting investments, overall company management and overseas business development. For investment and global partnerships, he oversaw the drafting, negotiation, signing, implementation and follow-up management of the resulting contracts. Based on this experience, he provides up-close support for Korean startups’ entry into the global market and cooperation with global partners. He also counsels clients on compliance/contracts required for cross-border inbound/outbound investments. He works with clients on cross-border business strategies and options, ranging from strategic partnerships, joint ventures, sales/technology licensing to M&As.
